Extending the Life of Your Fresh Cut Flowers

At Pyro Blossom Floristry, we select the hardiest premium blooms. Follow these five professional steps to double their beauty's duration.

01

The 45-Degree Trim

Immediately trim 2cm off the stems at an angle. This maximizes the surface area for water absorption, preventing air bubbles in the vascular system.

02

Pristine Environments

Bacteria is the enemy. Ensure your vase is surgical-grade clean before adding cool, fresh water mixed with our signature nutrient sachets.

03

Strategic Placement

Display your arrangement away from direct sunlight, heating vents, and—crucially—ripening fruit, which releases ethylene gas that causes premature wilting.

Caring for Volcanic Soil Succulents

Our succulents are grown in mineral-rich volcanic basalt. This porous medium requires a specific touch.

  • Light: 6 hours of filtered morning light. Avoid intense Abbotsford afternoon sun.
  • Water: The 'Soak and Dry' method. Wait until the volcanic mix is bone dry before drenching.
  • Propagation: Our basalt-raised plants propagate easily from healthy lower leaves.

Troubleshooting Care Questions

Why are my flower petals wilting prematurely?

Check for water temperature. Flowers thrive in tepid water. Also, ensure no foliage is submerged below the water line, as this promotes bacterial rot.

How do I get my Phalaenopsis orchid to bloom again?

Once the last flower falls, cut the spike 1cm above the second node. Place the orchid in a room with a 5-degree temperature drop at night to trigger a new spike.

My succulent leaves are turning yellow and translucent.

This is a classic sign of overwatering. Cease hydration immediately and ensure your volcanic soil remains aerated.
